Lino Printing: The Kiss by Klimt
In this printing class, you’ll explore the beautiful and expressive world of lino printing, taking inspiration from Gustav Klimt’s iconic painting The Kiss.
You’ll begin by learning the fundamentals of carving, inking, and printing, using Klimt’s rich patterns and flowing shapes as a starting point. You’ll create your own unique interpretation of this timeless design that you can take home at the end!
A pre-drawn outline based on The Kiss will be provided, allowing you to focus on the mindful, meditative process of carving. For those who feel adventurous, there’s also the option to adapt or redesign the composition in your own creative way.
The carving process is calm and rhythmic, while the inking and printing stage brings energy and excitement as your image comes to life on paper. By the end of the class, you’ll have up to 5 prints of your finished design to take home - perfect to frame or gift!
New to lino printing?
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and experienced printmakers alike. Whether you join on your own or with a friend, it’s a fun and inspiring way to spend a creative morning or afternoon.
All materials will be provided. Please bring your own apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little inky!
