Lino cut printing workshop, at Track taproom Manchester

Welcome to the Lino cut printing workshop at Track taproom in Manchester! Join us on Tue Jul 30 2024 at 7:00 PM for a fun and creative evening. Learn the art of lino cut printing, creating simple landscapes. No experience necessary, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
We will be setting up in Track's beautiful taproom garden enjoying the warmth, and a great beer, while we get stuck into something new.
I will be providing templates for 2 different landscapes that you can pick from, to keep things simple. However you are more than welcome to come prepared with your own design and I will talk through how we can get it completed in the time frame!

I love using gradient inks and colours in my own designs so I would love to share that with you too, but I'll also provide black ink for that classic linocut feel if you prefer.
The workshop will start with a demonstration on how to use the carving tools correctly. I'll provide scrap lino for you to practice on before moving onto the main project.
After that I'll talk through how to transfer the ready made design to your lino, then we will be ready to carve!
Then the inky part will commense, I recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting mucky. The ink is water based but it's better to be safe than sorry!
The exciting part is revealing the print at the end and seeing all the hard work pay off. You will proudly go home with a finished lino cut landscape or design of your choice!
