About this Event
Linocut printmaking is the traditional technique of making printed artwork using relief carving and is an ideal introduction to the world of handmade prints.
This introductory workshop takes you through every step to creating your own limited edition of linocut prints, from design and planning, safe carving techniques, inking up with water-soluble inks using brayer rollers, to proofing and printing using a portable nipping press. You will learn all the skills you need to design and print your own designs.
Although designed for beginners, this workshop is suitable for all levels as guidance and assistance will be given as needed. Group numbers are kept low to allow plenty of space and 1 to 1 attention.
Taking inspiration from images of iconic Wiltshire landscapes you will be supported at every stage to design and print your unique to artwork.
We will use the reduction cut technique to allow you to print designs with more than one colour.
All materials, eventbrite fee and taxes are included in the ticket price. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable to other events.
This workshop is held in the beautiful workshop studio upstairs at historic Fisherton Mill gallery, cafe and studios. Workshop participants can benefit from a 20% discount on lunches in the cafe.
