Born in 1858, Ellen Willmott FLS, VMH (Fellow of the Linnean Society, Victoria Medal of Honour) was in time to become one of Britain’s most eminent horticulturists.
She was a respected woman, but also a controversial figure - said to have carried a handbag full of seeds and a loaded revolver.
Join this talk to uncover the story of her life and accomplishments, as well as the myths surrounding her.
