Flood Resilience & Mental Wellbeing Roadshows

Supporting emotional resilience before, during and after flooding

Flooding affects far more than buildings, it disrupts routines, impacts finances, and can have a significant effect on emotional wellbeing. Worry, stress and uncertainty can continue long after the water has gone. These roadshows have been developed to bring together practical flood support and mental health support under one roof, helping individuals, families and communities feel informed, connected and emotionally prepared.

Delivered by Shine in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, the events combine guidance from a range of organisations who support during flooding with services that promote mental health, community resilience, and recovery. Visitors can drop in at any time to speak with professionals, ask questions and gather resources to help them protect both their home and their wellbeing.

As part of ongoing Project Groundwater activity, the events provide a welcoming space to:

  • Understand emotional responses to flooding and explore coping strategies
  • Access wellbeing support before, during and after disruption
  • Learn practical actions to protect your home and community from flood risk
  • Connect with networks offering support to families and vulnerable people
  • Build confidence and reassurance through shared community experience

Who should attend?

These events are perfect for:

  • Residents in flood-risk areas
  • People who have experienced flooding before
  • Businesses and landlords
  • Community groups and volunteers
  • Anyone supporting vulnerable individuals
  • Emergency planning and neighbourhood networks
