About this Event
For the third year running, Bee Pedal Ready, Station South and friends are lighting up Manchester’s streets and parks with a moving festival on wheels. It is part of the campaign for safer streets for women and girls. And it’s open to everyone - the more support, the bigger the impact. Lights Up : volume 3! ✨🚲
We’ll run feeder rides from across the city so you can ride in together. All routes meet at All Saints Park before our Disco on Wheels takes off, a night of lights, music, and collective energy. We will ride through the city, reclaiming the night, and light up the parks on the way to the iconic Victoria Baths for hot food, brews, a proper bike party, and a bespoke cycling exhibition designed by Manchester Metropolitan University 's aAH! Magazine.

📍 When: From 3.30pm @ All Saints Park [LINK] for brews, stalls + pre-ride buzz. We depart @ 4.30pm
👥 Who it’s for: Anyone who wants to light up the streets and show their support for visibility, inclusion, and community on two wheels.
📏 Distance / Terrain: 5 miles / 8km
⏱️ Ride time: About 1 hour
🚴 Pace: Super chilled / party pace / no-drop - we ride together
🗺️ Route:LINK All Saints Park → Oxford Road → Whitworth Park → Platt Fields Park →Victoria Baths
🧳 Bring: Water, snacks, helmet, bike lock, spare inner tube, lights, and warm layers
✨ Optional fun stuff: Bright clothes, sparkles, flags, speakers, fairy lights, lots of music-speakers, noise-makers… anything disco! Think: disco party on wheels.

> Meet : Outside the Cafe "The Pavilion" in Alexander Park, 180 Russell Street, M16 7JL
> Time : 3pm
> Distance : 4 miles / 6.5km
> Route : Alexandra Rd - Moss Side - Hulme - City Centre
> Return ride after Victoria Baths : For those who want to come back with the group we will be departing Victoria Baths at 7:15pm.
Ride 2 : with Station South [Levenshulme]
> Meet : Station South Bike Parking
> Time : Meet from 2.30pm for a sparkle station, we depart @ 3pm
> Distance : 5 miles / 8km
> Route : : FLoop - Oxford Rd - Platt Fields - Whitworth - City Centre
> Bikes + helmets available to borrow : contact Anna at [email protected] to reserve your kit ahead of the event day.
> Return ride after Victoria Baths : For those who want to come back with the group we will be departing Victoria Baths at 7:15pm.
Ride 3 : with Sustainable Living in the Heatons [Heaton Moor]
> Group : We will be riding to Station South to join the Station South feeder ride into town
> Meet : Thornfield Park, Heaton Moor SK4 4JT (what three words: best.swing.answer)
> Time : 14:30
> Distance : 3.16 miles / 5.09km please note we will be cycling to join the Station South team and cycling a further 5 miles / 8km to get to the city centre
> Route : Thornfield Park - The Meadow - Nelstrop Lane Floop - Station South.
> Return ride after Victoria Baths : For those who want to come back with the group we will be departing Victoria Baths at 7:15pm.
> Return Route : Distance: 5.9 miles / 9.5 KM

>> Friendly Notice! If you book on but for whatever reason cannot make it, we would appreciate as much notice as possible so we can open the ride back up to others waiting. You can cancel your place directly via EventBrite. The rides are free to you [hooray!] but come with cost and planning from our end so we want to make sure all the places are taken and enjoyed.. Thank you!
>> All riders must cycle responsibly + take their own safety as well as others into account when making decisions on the road. All cyclists participate at their own risk.
>> This ride is not suitable for beginners as we will be riding on roads, with traffic and in a tight group.
>> Please bring a spare inner tube just in case of a puncture, we have our very own mechanics riding amongst us so you won't get left behind if you get a flat. Please make sure your bike is in a roadworthy condition before the ride.
