Join us for the launch party of local author Raquel Vasquez Gilliland's LIGHTNING IN HER HANDS, a novel about a young witch whose emotions control the weather. Raquel will read an excerpt of the novel, and following that there will be a brief Q&A, as well as book signing. Refreshments will be served.

ABOUT LIGHTNING IN HER HANDS
Gifted—or cursed—with the power to influence the weather, one woman must embrace her wild heart in the next electric romance from the author of Witch of Wild Things.

Raquel Vasquez Gilliland is a USA TODAY best-selling and Pura Belpré Award-winning Mexican American poet, novelist, and painter. She received her BA in cultural anthropology from the University of West Florida and her MFA in poetry from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Raquel is most inspired by folklore and seeds and the lineages of all things. When not writing, Raquel tells stories to her plants, and they tell her stories back.
