๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด: The Opening night for ice skating at the Rink at Royal Oak, shopping at the Holiday Huts featuring gifts and goodies from downtown Royal Oak businesses, Visits with Santa, carnival rides, food trucks, live music and more, culminating with the Lighting of Centennial Commons, including the Giant Oak Tree!
๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ will take place on the steps of the Royal Oak Public Library includes live music from local musicians and school groups, a surprise visit from Santa, a skating performance from members of Team USA, and the first annual Beacon of Light Awards.
๐ง๐๐ผ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ will be given out by the Dave Coulter, the Oakland County Executive and Mike Fournier, the Mayor of Royal Oak. These awards will go to individuals who have shown outstanding leadership, community-building and a dedication to helping others.
๐๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐น๐, the Lighting of the Park will be partnering with the Metro Detroit Youth Clubโs (MDYC) Holiday Basket Program. Guests can bring 4 canned goods to receive free carnival ride and inflatable wristbands for up to 4 family members.
