About this Event

Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

A creative technology workshop for home educated young people aged 11–16.

Does your child enjoy being creative, experimenting with technology, or trying something completely different?

Would they love the opportunity to design and programme their very own light-up baseball cap?

Light Up Lids is a fun, hands-on wearable tech workshop where creativity meets coding. Participants will create a custom baseball cap featuring programmable LED lights and exciting lighting effects they can personalise and take pride in showing off.

Using beginner-friendly coding tools and real programmable hardware, young people will explore how technology can be used in fashion, entertainment, and digital design — no previous coding experience needed.

Please note: A parent or responsible adult must remain on-site and accompany their child throughout the workshop session.
