PlayAct Theater is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of The Light in the Piazza, a beautiful musical that explores love and the complexities of relationships. Performances will take place on November 15th @ 7:30 pm and November 16-17th @ 4:00 pm at the Valparaiso University Center for the Arts. Tickets are available for purchase in advance on the PlayAct Theater website or at the door for $10-20.
Directed by the talented duo Daniel and Keri Burman Castro, this production is particularly special for the couple, who first met as the young lovers in a previous performance of the show. Now as their portrayal of the parents to the lovers, they bring a unique and heartfelt perspective to the production. "We are so excited to share this beautiful narrative of love and longing with our audience," said Keri. "It's a full-circle moment for us, and we can't wait to see how our experiences as parents influence our storytelling."
The Light in the Piazza, with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel and a book by Craig Lucas, tells the story of a young woman named Clara and her summer romance in Florence, Italy. With gorgeous melodies and a touching storyline, this musical captures the essence of love's transformative power.
