About this Event
Light In The Darkness
Celebrating 200 Years of Global Impact
Two hundred years ago, a young Glaswegian named David Nasmith saw the poverty and suffering around him and responded with Gospel-shaped action. In May 2026, we will gather in Glasgow to mark 200 years since the birth of the City Mission movement.
What began with Christians working together across denominations to serve their neighbours became a model of urban mission that spread from Glasgow to cities around the world — bringing light into some of the darkest places.
Hosted by Glasgow City Mission at Queen’s Park Baptist Church, this two-day conference will celebrate our shared legacy, strengthen international partnerships, and explore how we can respond faithfully and effectively to the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
