About this Event

Light and Shadow - A Sensory Exploration for Children Ages 3-6

Who we are: Meggie and Raela are your teachers with Friendship in the Feld, an early childhood development program providing play-based educational workshops for children. We are two early childhood educators with more than 20 years of combined experience with young children. Through sensory experiences, art exploration and child-led play, we aim to support social-emotional learning and help develop community and school readiness skills.

What to expect: This Light and Shadow workshop will be a hands-on and eyes open sensory experience for your little one! Come join us and develop your child’s creativity and school -readiness through shadow puppet crafting out of recycled materials, read alouds, social games and stories, and child-led exploration. We ask caregivers to stay on site and enjoy a coffee or tea and meet other parents in our community.

What’s included: Your ticket purchase includes entry and participation for 1 child and 1 caregiver. We will provide all craft and sensory materials as well as a caring and nurturing environment for safe and supported learning. We suggest you feed your child a small snack before the session, but will have some dry goods (rice crackers, raisins) on site just in case ;). We will also be providing coffee and tea for caregivers to enjoy while their children learn. There is a toilet available for patrons but no changing table. You will receive a welcome packet upon ticket purchase with more detailed information about the event.
