About this Event

Our US Guest Speaker

Bill Breeden has been very active in the abolition movement for three decades, after becoming friends with Sister Helen Prejean (of Dead Man Walking) in the early 1990s. He has also been a volunteer minister to a man on Federal Death Row for sixteen years, and accompanied Corey Johnson to the death chamber in Indiana in January 2021. He describes Corey as one of the most amazing human beings he has ever known, and the thirty hours they spent together before Corey’s execution as some of the most significant of his life.

Bill is a compelling speaker and has been interviewed by the BBC and on other media.

Our UK Guest Speaker

She has worked with people convicted of serious offences for 24 years and is a principal forensic psychologist in His Majesty’s Pr*son and Probation Service. Kerensa is a trustee and co-founder of the Safer Living Foundation (SLF), a charity that aims to prevent sexual abuse by working with those who have offended or are at risk of offending. Kerensa is a member of the Compassionate Mind Foundation and cofounder of the Compassion Focused Therapy forensic special interest group. In 2016 she was the winner of the prestigious Butler Trust award for excellence in correctional services.

Kerensa is a co-host of The Forensic Psychology Podcast and the BBC series Behind The Crime.

Both speakers will be happy to answer questions.

Where will it be? The Human Rights Action Centre, New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA. The venue is fully accessible. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. There are cafés and shops close by, or you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

How do I book my place? This is a ticketed event. We recommend booking in advance and ticket sales close on 7 October. You may also pay on the door as long as there are places available.
