Course Content & Skills Covered:
Basic Life Support (BLS) skills: Participants will learn how to perform CPR and use an AED. Dealing with choking in infants, children, and adults. How to recognize and provide first aid treatment for heart attacks and strokes. Recovery position training: How to safely place an unconscious but breathing person in the recovery position. Comprehensive hands-on practice, with certification awarded upon successful completion.
This course will equip participants with the ability to assist family, friends, and others in emergencies, giving them confidence in their ability to respond to a wide range of lifethreatening situations.
About Peter Sommer
Peter is a Registered Nurse (RN) from the UK with extensive experience in both clinical and instructional settings. He began his career on a cardiology ward before transitioning to a High Dependency Renal & Transplant Unit, where he honed his expertise in critical care. After spending a year working across various hospitals in Australia, Peter relocated to Hong Kong, where he took on multiple roles with a medical assistance company. His responsibilities included setting up remote site clinics across China and training healthcare professionals in emergency first aid and CPR.
With over 25 years of experience as a qualified First Aid instructor, Peter has worked with reputable institutions like the Red Cross and the National Safety Council. He is currently an instructor for the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (USA) and holds the additional qualification of Instructor Trainer. In this capacity, Peter not only teaches healthcare professionals across Asia but also delivers First Aid, CPR, and AED courses for corporations, schools, gyms, and domestic helpers throughout Hong Kong. His dedication to improving emergency care skills in diverse settings has made him a respected figure in the field of first aid and healthcare training.
