Author and Rollins Professor Leslie Poole will discuss her new book that traces famous travelers who have come through the peninsula and written about it. She uses their words to describe Florida of the past and then retraces their steps to see what still exists and what has changed.
Dr. Leslie Kemp Poole is associate professor of environmental studies at Rollins College. A fourth-generation Floridian, Poole’s research combines her love of history with an interest in activism used to save and protect it. She is the author of five books.
The presentation is free of charge and coffee and light refreshments are served. There is a Q & A time following the presentation and Kilby will be on hand to sign copies of this special book.
The Life Explorers Speakers Series is held in the Azalea Lodge of Mead Botanical Garden from 10-11:30 a.m. The program is free of charge with light refreshments and coffee served.
