We're bringing you ✧ spicy ✧ Meanjin summer drawing sessions at the iconic culture venue Echo & Bounce throughout Nov + Dec for your festive szn enjoyment ⚠︎

➛ Classic studio mav life drawing sessions but with an extra social//festive vibe ~ the bar downstairs is open for your enjoyment throughout the session + afterwards to stick around and hang out with new friends :-)

➛ Ramen night going on downstairs + bar open: pair your creative evening with snacks and sips to delight 𓌈

➛ Extended session time to 8:45pm to allow for a leisurely break in the middle to grab a bev, chat with the lovely people around you, or continue working on your drawings

➛ Held in the gorgeous upstairs studio space of Echo & Bounce > up the stairs on the Stanely St side of the venue (just ask one of the friendly staff members for direction if need) xo

ABOUT OUR LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS

Our sessions involve a professional nude life model to draw inspiration from throughout the evening. At Studio Maverik, we take the tradition of life drawing and facilitate a contemporary space for all people to enjoy no-pressure creating and socialising. We work to foster a safe environment where both beginners and experienced artists alike can enjoy a drawing session. Sessions are self-guided and facilitated by two local artists, Frances & Rhianna. All experience levels are warmly welcomed and encouraged!

• Held in the upstairs studio space at Echo & Bounce, bar and kitchen open downstairs to purchase treats throughout the evening
• All basic drawing materials provided such as pencils, markers, erasers, sharpeners, paper, drawing boards etc and you can BYO additional materials
• Poses range from 1-minute warm-ups to 15-minute studies
• Doors will open at 6:10pm / please arrive 10 minutes early to set up
• Seated & floor seating available
• ID required for student/concession tickets

ABOUT THE VENUE

Echo & Bounce is a community music arts project spread across 5 spaces in the carpark paradise of Woolloongabba, Meanjin/Brisbane. It’s a third space ~ a record store, cafe and multimodal events space; ripe for wholesome emerging and experimental communal activities. It’s home to a broad spectrum of shared experiences across music, art, food, solidarity, and every shade between.

PARKING

Plenty of parking available on Stanley Street: if you are driving and arriving after 5:30PM, you can park in any of the commercial parking spaces as long as you are not blocking anyone in! We are also located super close by to train & bus stations.

ACCESSIBILITY

Unfortunately, the studio level of the venue is not wheelchair accessible. We are deeply sorry if this impacts your ability to join us however we are working hard on finding an additional venue with an accessible offering, so please keep an eye out for future events or contact us for more information at [email protected] - we hope you understand.

Cancellation policy

We have a strict cancellation policy that requires you to request a refund more than 24 hours before an event. You can request a refund via your eventbrite appointment email (manage order > request refund) to open up the spot for another drawer at least 1 day beforehand. We cannot swap your ticket for another date.

Please keep your phone away while the model is posing, but you're welcome to use it during the break.

If you choose to work with wet mediums such as ink or paint we require you to come prepared with a floor cover, cleaning materials (such as a rag) and to take responsibility to prevent spillage/clean up any mess. Thank you for your understanding.
