Join Cathy van Ee for a focused, atelier-style learning experience with this 6-week life drawing course in charcoal, designed to build strong, lasting foundations in figure drawing. Each 3-hour session combines clear, structured tutorials with extended time working directly from the live model. You’ll learn how to begin a figure drawing with confidence, seeing the pose as a unified whole rather than a collection of parts. Through guided demonstrations, you’ll discover how gesture and block-in work together to establish both movement and structure from the very first marks.
You’ll develop a more accurate, expressive approach to the figure, gaining the tools to simplify complexity while still achieving depth and refinement. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your fundamentals or bring more life and clarity into your drawings, this class offers a disciplined yet intuitive path forward.
Join us from 16 May to 27 June for six Saturday sessions, 12.30–3.30pm.
