Pastor John Choi, guest speaker from Good News San Diego Church, once lost everything to drug addiction and hopelessness. Then, an unexpected opportunity took him to Liberia, Africa as a volunteer—where his life slowly began to change.
But one day, everything took a turn for the worse.
After being stung by a deadly African scorpion, he collapsed. His breathing slowed. At the hospital, no one would treat him.
“It’s too late.”
“You’re going to die.”
Everyone gave up on him.
But in that moment, one message changed everything:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:31)
When everything else failed, the Word of God gave him hope—and completely turned his life around.
