Join the MSA for an evening of early career insight: Life as a Part 1 - Prep for Practice
About this Event

This event is designed to support graduating BA3 students as they prepare to enter professional practice. Hosted by the Manchester Society of Architects, the evening will offer practical, honest insight into the transition from university to the working world.

A selection of current Part 1 assistants from a range of practices – from small studios to large firms – will share their experiences through short presentations, followed by a panel discussion and informal mixer.

Expect valuable perspectives on:

The variety of roles and responsibilities Part 1s take on
What day-to-day work in practice actually looks like
Navigating the first week, month, and project in a new environment
Common challenges and how to approach them
What they wish they’d known before starting
Advice for making the most of your year in practice

The evening includes:

Short talks from current Part 1s
A panel Q&A session
A relaxed mixer with refreshments provided

This event is open to all graduating students considering practice after their BA. Whether you’ve secured a role or are still exploring your options, this is a chance to hear directly from those who’ve recently made the leap.
