Join artist Casey Jay Andrews for a weekly life and portrait drawing session throughout the Adelaide Fringe, designed for all levels.This friendly, welcoming group provides a relaxed environment to explore drawing from life, develop technical skills, and connect with fellow creatives. Each session includes a mix of quick gesture sketches and longer poses to develop detail and observation, offering a supportive space to build confidence, share techniques, and connect with other artists in a welcoming creative setting.

About Casey Jay Andrews (Designer / Writer) -
Casey Jay Andrews is a multi-award winning writer, designer, and theatre-maker (Fringe First Award; Best Design Off-West End Award; Adelaide Fringe Overall Best Theatre Award). Alongside her theatre and immersive design work, she maintains an artistic practice in drawing and printmaking, developing her technique and making time for creative exploration. Her sessions are welcoming and inclusive, offering artists of all levels the opportunity to develop life and portrait drawing skills, experiment with style, and enjoy the process in a positive, community-focused environment.

Participants will gain:
* Practical skill development in life and portrait drawing for all levels

What to bring:
Some paper and drawing materials will be provided, but it is recommended to bring: a sketchbook and personal drawing materials if you have them (pencils, charcoal, pens, or preferred media), and an eraser. Optional: drawing board if desired.
Requirements:
This workshop is aimed at artists of all levels — beginners, hobbyists, and experienced practitioners — who wish to practice life and portrait drawing in a welcoming, professional environment. The group is ideal for anyone seeking to refine skills, explore technique, and connect with other artists in a supportive creative space
Workshop participants must be over 18 years of age.

Cost: Pay What You Can - 3 x different prices:

This workshop is part of a series of workshops - FRANK. Workshop Series at The Courtyard of Curiosities, all workshops are taking place during the Adelaide Fringe Festival, this workshop at Migration Museum, and others at State Library of South Australia.
