About this Event
Please note: This is a community event that is intended to be open to all who wish to participate, regardless of current financial circumstances. Tickets are by donation but if this is a barrier for you right now, there are free tickets readily available. Please contact me directly and I will gladly reserve you a space .
This is an invitation both for creatives wanting to explore/expand their practice and for those who feel they aren’t creative (but wish they were!). If you’ve ever said “I can’t draw” or “I don’t have a creative bone in my body” then this class is for you too!
So many of us have absorbed the idea that art “should” look a certain way – that there is somehow a right and a wrong when it comes to creativity. Our path to expression is clear when we stop trying to create in the way we think we are “supposed” to and start getting in touch with what naturally flows through us if we allow it.
This is a place to explore and develop tools to free up, get out of our own way and embrace the unique creativity that we all possess.
In this workshop we will be working with a nude model. However, you are invited to explore the human form as much or as little as you like. This is your space. Creativity has no rules. If what you need is to just close your eyes and scribble then that's more than welcome too.
Charcoal and newsprint paper will be available by donation on the day. Feel free to bring your own art supplies! However, please no oil paints or spray paints.
Suggested donation for this event is £10 – £15. There are costs involved to run this event and your contributions help to make this possible, however no-one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you are in a place where you need to use one of the allocated free spaces, you are very welcome to do so. If your cup is full, please give generously so that we can continue to make this space sustainable and inclusive for all.
