Nenriki Kendo Club warmly invites competitors to join us for the 2025 Lidstone Memorial Kyūsha Taikai, a yearly kendo tournament held in memory of R.A. Charles Lidstone, one of the earliest proponents of kendo in Europe.This tournament is for kyūsha - holders of kyu ranks - and is an excellent entry point for new kendoka into the world of competition.
The event will take place on Saturday 11th October from 09:00 to 18:00 at the LSBU Academy Sports Hall and is open to all kyu-grades (minimum age 18) with under three years kendo experience.
The day will include practice shiai as well as the main competition and awards, and free keiko at the end of the day.

Dan grades are welcome to volunteer to be selected as a referee. Please apply at the above link and select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu. Shinpan will be selected on the day by the shinpan-cho Young Park after a short referee seminar in the morning before the competition.
