The Book
Thoughtload: Manage the Madness and Free Your Team to Do Great Work
It’s not your workload - it’s your thoughtload.
In Thoughtload, New York Times bestselling author and team effectiveness advisor Liane Davey tackles overloaded systems, burned-out teams, and declining productivity. But the problem isn’t excessive workload—it’s thoughtload: the cumulative and often overwhelming burden of cognitive and emotional demands, worsened by depleted energy. This highly prescriptive guide lays out steps to reduce thoughtload so you feel more focused and get more done. Learn to manage attention, process emotions, and make smart choices about energy—then help your team do the same. Written with the time- and energy-strapped manager in mind and grounded in real-world leadership experience, Thoughtload is Davey’s potent handbook for a better way to lead: create calm within the chaos so you and your team can perform, produce, and prosper.
