LGRCamp East Midlands brings council leaders and digital experts together to tackle LGR challenges and co-create practical solutions.
About this Event

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) across the East Midlands presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reshape councils. However, it also introduces significant digital, data, and service delivery challenges that must be addressed at pace.

Councils are being asked to:

* Merge organisations, systems, and cultures
* Maintain uninterrupted frontline services
* Deliver savings and efficiencies
* Modernise digital services at the same time

This creates a number of Key Digital Issues:

Legacy IT & Technical Debt: Multiple systems, poor integration & high migration risk
Data Integration & Quality: Fragmented datasets, inconsistent standards & GDPR risks
Cybersecurity & Risk: Increased vulnerability during transition and system change
Time Pressure aka “Vesting Day Readiness”: Services must work from day one & limiting transformation scope
Skills & Capacity Gaps: Shortage of digital, data, and transformation expertise
Culture & Change Management: Aligning different organisations into one digital-first mindset
Service Redesign vs Lift-and-Shift: Balancing speed with meaningful transformation
Governance & Leadership: Clarity on decision-making and digital ownership

LGR is not just structural change but a platform for transformation which can support the creation of:

* Simplified service delivery
* Shared platforms and capabilities
* Data-driven decision making
* Improved citizen experience

LGRCamp EAST MIDLANDS will bring together Local Authority Leaders,DDaT Professionals and Transformation and Service Design Experts from Local Gov to share practical lessons, explore common challenges and co-create solutions for LGR success.
