Tallinn is a city with a rich LGBT+ history that has only begun to be studied more thoroughly in recent years. LGBT+ history researcher Taavi Talupuu will take you on a walk through the Old Town and share stories about Tallinn’s queer communities over the past 30 years. In the spirit of Baltic Pride, the focus is on community activism. We will walk roughly along the route of Estonia’s first gay parade, which took place in 2004. The tour is approximately 2 km long, lasts a little over an hour at a relaxed pace, and is free of charge for participants. The tour starts at the Viru Gates and ends at Town Hall Square.
Accessibility: the tour takes place in the Old Town, where it is generally difficult for people with mobility impairments to move around. Most streets are covered with cobblestones, and sidewalks have high curbs. In the second part of the tour, we will climb stairs from Freedom Square up to Toompea, and later descend from Toompea along the steep streets.
Tours take place:
June 4 at 5:00 PM (in Estonian)
June 7 at 11:00 AM (in English)
This event is part of the Baltic Pride 2026 program.
