Alex has been left by his girlfriend of 6 years with no explanation, other than a small note telling him she “can’t do this anymore”. Isolated and alone, this bedroom musician begins to form a relationship with his smart speaker out of an impulse to be loved and to feel seen. The Bohemians Theatre Company are excited to be bringing their new show 'Lexi' to this year's Camden Fringe!
Lexi is a one-person gig-theatre piece for the Black Mirror generation featuring original live-looped electronic music. Lexi delves into toxic masculinity and men’s mental health, shining a light on the potential harmful behaviour AI and 'human mimicking' technology can enable and perpetuate.
The piece is co-written by Associate Artist Sophie Bevan (Moby Dick, John Godber Company) and co-written, composed and performed by our Assistant Artistic Director Elliot Mackenzie (Zog and Million Dollar Quartet). Lexi is directed by Holly Reddaway and produced by Benji Mowbray and Abigail Middleton.
Lexi takes place on the 5th, 6th and 7th August at the Rose and Crown Kentish Town at 8pm running at 45 minutes. Tickets are £8 with £5 concessions and available via the Camden Fringe website here:
