About this Event

The Lewisham Schools & The Black Child Conference is the first in a series of conferences across London for Black (African, Caribbean, Mixed Heritage) parents.

Join us at Twin Oaks Primary School for a day filled with insightful presentations from titans in the field of education:
Neil Mayers: Education consultant, author, Raising Black Achievement Founding Director

Susan Rowe: Educator, activist, co-founder of Lewisham Education Group

Tony Warner: Historian, author, Editor of UK's 1st Black-British History Unit in GCSE (for Edexcel exam board)

Sabrina Dixon: Executive Director of Social Inclusion Recovery Group, Education Advocate

Robin Walker: publisher, educator and author of over 20 books on Black History, including the iconic, "When We Ruled".

There are approximately 20,000 Black & Mixed Heritage students in the borough of Lewisham, which means approximately 40,000 parents that have a personal stake in the outcomes of this conference. Unfortunately, we only have 130 seats available at this venue, so please do not hesitate in purchasing your ticket - they will disappear quickly.


PLEASE NOTE!
All attendees will need to bring proof that they are Lewisham residents
(e.g. driving licence or utility bill)


Standby tickets will be made available for those ticket-holders that have not shown up by 10am, but we will only be aware of the number of standby seats that are available on the day.
