Formed in 2020, Brisbane based band Lewin Grimley & The Broken Strings push the boundaries of both gothic folk and alt rock genres. With a keen focus on storytelling, this group of musicians provides listeners with a melting pot of folk, rock, blues and
progressive genres. On the stage, Lewin Grimley channels an almost bard like persona gently weaving stories of love, death and the unknown.
These stories provide a foundation for the complex musical prowess of the Broken Strings, to build upon, each member bringing their own unique twists. This group first stepped onto the scene with their debut single Lady Lucifer in November 2021, which was shortly followed in December by Corpses Lament. Following this, The Broken Strings began work on their EP Fool’s
Fairytales which was released on the 24th of November 2022.
After three years of gigging around Brisbane’s night scene, Lewin Grimley and his group of musical maniacs are readying themselves for a defining fourth year.
