About this Event
Students at the Feminist Institute of Social Transformation at Carleton University and The Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa, along with the Joint Chair in Women’s Studies at both universities, present:
Let’s draw together! A workshop on turning feminist research into comics/zines!
Come mingle and draw with us as we explore creative ways to story research and meet other feminist/gender studies students in Ottawa! Faculty members, CIs, postdocs, also welcome!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be guided through drawing exercises and the making of a mini-zine/comics to explore ways to story research otherwise. In the process, we’ll learn about each other’s research, build camaraderie, and think about how creative work can help us address some of the challenges of our times, in academia and beyond.
No drawing skills required, just an interest in graphic storytelling and feminist research!
Room: TBA, Carleton University
Coffee/tea and lunch provided!
Materials to create the zine/comics provided!
The workshop will be held in English (Click here for the French version of this workshop which will be held on April 16, at the University of Ottawa).
