This is a sub-group for the Low Budget Filmmaking group and will be focused on how one can make a low-budget action film (est. $300,000 CAD) from beginning to end.Some of the topics that we'll discuss include:
*Scripting/story
*Financing
*Production
*Sales, market, distribution
*and if there is interest, international co-production.
We will do this over three partial days, around the release of the film "The Furious".
Thursday, June 11 — we’ll watch the first showing of "The Furious" at Metropolis, Metrotown (usually around 6:30 pm), then discuss the film over a late meal downstairs.
Friday, June 12 — we’ll get together in the early afternoon and again in the evening to talk about the action filmmaking topics.
Saturday, June 13 — we’ll have an early-morning breakfast and chat, and finish by 11:00 am.
Two of the attendees are currently reading the book, Badass On a Budget, by Eric Jacobus and may share additional insights he may offer as well.
