ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join us for a gentle hike (1.6 miles) and explore Caen Hill - one of the longest flight of locks in the country! The walk also includes the Jubilee Woodland, a young wood in the making. This was planted in 2012 to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Walks are led by Canal & River Trust volunteers who will be able to tell you all about the locks and the woodland. Towards the end of the walk once we’re back at the top of the fight, you can come aboard The Admiral – our floating visitor centre. Here you can learn all about the history of Britain’s canals, specifically The Kennet & Avon.
There is also a wonderful café to grab a drink with stunning views looking down the flight and across the Wiltshire countryside.
We'll set off from the car park at 10:30am and the walk will take between 60 & 90 minutes. There are some relatively steep slopes, however we walk at a leisurely pace.
Please arrive 5 minutes before the walks begins.
Well behaved dogs welcome but please keep them on a lead.

The visitor car park is accessed of Marsh Lane. Post Code SN10 1QS.
If driving, the car park fee is included in your ticket. Tickets cost £4 and this helps fund various other engagement activities along the canal network.
