About the show and soundtracks:
Insecure is a critically acclaimed HBO comedy-drama created by Issa Rae. Based on Rae's web series Awkward Black Girl, it follows the deeply authentic, hilarious, and relatable lives of modern Black women navigating careers, dating, and female friendships in Los Angeles.
This year marks 10 years since Insecure first debuted on HBO. Not only did the show scenes leave a lasting cultural mark, but so did the music! With soundtracks curated by Issa Rae in collaboration with long-time music supervisor Kier Lehman and legendary composer and artist Raphael Saadiq, the show's music is heavily rooted in hip-hop, R&B, and soul; featuring current and emerging Black artists such as: Kendrick Lamar, The Internet, Jazmine Sullivan, Nnena, Lion Babe, Kirby, and more!
