Let's Talk Fostering and Adoption - LGBT+ Event

This in-person Barnardo's event will give you the chance to learn more about fostering and adoption, meet the Barnardo's team, as well as hear from LGBT+ foster carers and adopters.

During this event there will be several opportunties to hear directly from our incredible foster carer and adopter community about their own journeys, as well as time to ask them any questions you may have.

By coming to the event you are not making a commitment, you are simply saying 'I want to learn more'. We hope to keep the event as informal as possible, and a safe space for those who identify within the LGBT+ community and are interested in fostering or adoption. We also hope the event will myth bust around LGBT+ fostering and adoption and help give you facts on how you can start your journey.

Info: Welcome from our Barnardo's team, come in, grab a seat and a drink!

Info: The Barnardo's team will give a brief overview of fostering and adoption with Barnardo's letting you know more about the process and the types of children who need safe, loving and stable homes.

Info: You may have questions you want to ask. During this time you can grab another drink, have a break and write down any questions you hope to get answered from todays session.

Info: We will be joined by members of our fostering and adoption community who identify as LGBT+. They will share their own stories and experiences with the group. Alongside them, we will also be inviting Barnardo's staff members to help answer any questions you had from the previous activity.

Info: We are hoping this event can be a space for you to talk with other people interested in fostering or adoption,as well as with our community. In this part of the session we invite people to talk with people within the room, ask any further questions to foster carers, adopters, staff member or other attendees.
