Don't hit a wall in your art-making; paint it!This class is designed to deconstruct the mysteryand trepidation around mural-making for new-to-it artists. Learn practical skills like surface preparation, location-planning, materials to use, and ways to break down a big project into simpler steps. This course will look to visual projects across the globefor inspiration & education, as well as look to feature local guest speakers. In addition to visual literacy, students will also learn ways to find, plan, andpropose their own murals to granting organizations.Over the course of the week, creatives will buildtheir material know-how, confidence, and educationin how to make murals and work with their coursemates in creating a collaborative community mural.
Taught by Amber Solberg, a mural coordinator & facilitator for Altruistic Current, who has worked on 6 murals bringing together the work of 300+ Community Members and 16 Professional Artists.
