About this Event
Green Recovery Challenge Fund has made this project possible in Manchester to create and enhance green spaces. Join us in learning just how rich in wildlife our canals can be, even in winter!
Identifying trees through the winter months, when they rarely hold any leaves or fruits, is a real art form; but surprisingly simple when you know what to look for. This taster session will give participants a chance to look at local species and learn how to confidently identify them.
The course will cover
Recognising native & common tree species
* Using buds, bark, leaf litter & other winter signs
* Tree ID cheat sheets and FSC guides
* hacks to help identify any tree
* Book recommendations
No previous knowledge required, identification guides will be provided on the day. Please dress warmly and bring food and water as the weather is unpredictable.
Ending time is approximate.
Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this activity.
