About this Event

About this Event

Join us for a bat walk organised by the Canal & River Trust. The evening will commence with a short talk introducing bats and their behaviour followed by a session on how to use a bat detector. We’ll then take a walk along the canal watching and listening for these fascinating creatures of the night!

Please wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Bat detectors will be provided.

Booking is essential. In the event of heavy rain or strong winds the event will be postponed.

This event will start from the Canal & River Trust car park on Caton Road (NB. limited parking spaces available) next door to McDonalds and we will walk along the path towards the river, up the steps onto the aqueduct and possibly also down the steps to the river Lune.

Book now

Please book one ticket per person. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for both adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to wildlife and are of easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn about the wildlife on our waterway corridors.

Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.

Walk ins will not be accepted.

If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite or please get in touch with us to allow another person(s) a chance to take part.

Donate to Let’s Activity!

The Canal & River Trust’s Let’s Activity campaign is free to attend as part of our work as a waterways and wellbeing charity to help everyone get out, get active and make their lives better by water by learning to paddle.
