Join NYC Parks on Saturday, June 22, to support Let’s Get Ready to Rucker! – an annual community event dedicated to celebrating the opening of tournament season and welcoming New Yorkers to enjoy a day of fun at the iconic Holcombe Rucker Park.
This FREE community event will offer activities including basketball clinics and games, sports challenges and prizes, an obstacle course, food, arts and crafts, and more!

Volunteer Event Support
Volunteers play a crucial role in making this event a success by helping to greet and direct participants, register families for activities, and assist with setup and breakdown. All volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch and a rotational lunch break, as well as a thank-you swag gift from NYC Parks. If you need a letter to confirm that you volunteered at the event, NYC Parks can provide that after the event.

WHEN: Saturday, June 22nd, 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- V olunteers arrive for orientation at 10:00 AM.
- P ublic event takes place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- V olunteer shift concludes at 3:30 PM.
WHERE: Holcombe Rucker Park, Northern Harlem
- Enter the park at the entrance on W 155th St to reach Volunteer Check-In.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers, as well as a thank-you gift from NYC Parks!
WAIVERS: All volunteers will be asked to complete waivers when they arrive onsite. While we welcome all ages to participate in the festival, we are not able to accommodate participants under age 18 as volunteers.
DIRECTIONS: Take the B or D to 155th Street and walk east to Holcombe Rucker Park. Or take the M10 bus to Frederick Douglass Blvd/W 155th St. Enter the park at W 155th St to reach Volunteer Check-In.
***Please note, we highly encourage all participants to utilize public transit as there is no private vehicle access or parking available within the park.***
