Playing new and old jazz innovation with experienced Club DJs playing soul, funk, real disco, soulful house and styles in between at Winchester’s longest independent Music venue.
Kevin Davy Band (Cymande)
Kevin is a long established trumpet & flugelhorn player and having previously been voted BBC Manchester’s Jazz Musician of the Year was nominated as Boisdale/Xerjoff Jazz Musician of the Year (25). Currently touring with the legendary Cymande playing the likes of Later, Newport Jazz & Glastonbury, he has also toured and collaborated extensively with Lamb, Finley Quaye, Hideaki Takahashi and has lent his dynamic, varied yet sensitive playing to a variety of styles including working with poets Lemn Sissay & SuAndi (OBE). Kevin will be bringing his own band to explore the rhythmic and harmonic roots of jazz. With groove based material and interpretations taking in modal excursions and beyond bridging the past and present forms with expressive solos.

Live Support comes with local jazz Band:“B Natural”who play across venues in Winchester with more standard fare to get the evening into swing.
We are dedicated to nurturing new talent and previously wrote music courses at the BRIT School as well as providing students with the opportunity to play at venues like the blue note and the Royal Festival Hall. So initial live support will be from: The University of Winchester Jazz Collective

St.John de-Zilva was resident at the blue note in Hoxton from 96-99 and has played with the likes of Harry Beckett, the Groove Collective at LJF, Jazzanova, Erik Truffauz, Basement Jaxx, Roy Davis Jnr, Eddie Piller & Giles Petersen to name a few whilst hosting his night Overlikeafatrat night at the Notting Hill Arts Club with Bob Jones for six years and monthly guest slots at Fabric from 1999- 2008. He blends an experimental mix of jazz fusion to soul, disco, broken and soulful house. A teacher of music and music technology he started at the BRIT School in 1994 and is still teaching A levels today.
Joined by local DJ talents: Ryan Lane from Espiritu / Overdraft whose stylish and eclectic sets have been wowing and wooing local dance floors and has played with the likes of Bill Brewster & Maurice Fulton.
Matt Sanger is another well-established local DJ with honed skills for festivals such Bestival and the Isle of Wight Festival and a weekly radio show on Voice FM with his Radio Mundial show.
Alex– (Elephant Records) a purveyor of fine eclectic fare from his independent Record store base in Winchester playing unique vinyl and rarities.
