As artists, we often look to other art for inspiration, but I’ve learned that sometimes inspiration comes from the tools themselves. As a video producer at B&H, I’m constantly testing gear and accessories I might never have chosen on my own. And again and again, I’ve seen how a new flash, an unexpected lens, or even a simple filter can unlock an entirely new way of seeing and rapidly push your creative skills forward. In this talk, I’ll share some of the tools that have sparked fresh work for me, along with the technical knowledge that makes them truly useful. We’ll look at how to pair modern strobes with vintage cameras, and how to create strobe-lit portraits that feel intentional, emotional, and anything but clinical.
My goal is for you to walk away with stronger technical confidence and a creative voice that’s not only true to you, but expanded.
