A Menopause & Perimenopause Movie Screening, featuring Bubbles & Brunch. Hosted by The LILAC Foundation, this special community gathering invites women to come together for an honest, empowering exploration of perimenopause, menopause, and the hormonal transitions no one ever really prepared us for, featuring a screening of The M Factor.Growing up, many of us were taught everything about getting our periods and having babies — but almost nothing about what comes next. For generations, menopause was treated as something women were simply expected to endure quietly. Today, more and more women are realizing they don’t fully understand why they feel the way they do — and without that understanding, it can be difficult for partners, families, and even healthcare providers to fully support them.
Let’s Talk Hormones: What No One Told Us creates space for the conversation we should have been invited into years ago.
Join us at The Marion Theater for bubbles and brunch from La Cuisine, for a candid, approachable gathering designed to help women better understand the changes happening in their bodies. This event is not about fear or overwhelm — it’s about knowledge, clarity, and community.
Together, we’ll explore:
• What perimenopause and menopause actually are
• Common (and often surprising) symptoms
• How hormones impact mood, sleep, energy, and overall well-being
• When to seek medical guidance and what options may be available
• Questions you’ve always wanted to ask but didn’t know where to start
While one event cannot cover everything, our goal is for attendees to leave with:
• A clearer understanding of their bodies
• Language to describe what they’re experiencing
• Reassurance that they are not alone
• The confidence to ask better questions and seek informed care
✨ While this is a free event, presented as part of The LILAC Foundation’s mission to support education, wellness, and meaningful connection in Marion County, guests are encouraged to bring period care product donations (suggested value $25) to support the Ocala Clothing Swap. Donations will be gratefully collected upon arrival; monetary donations of a similar amount made payable to the Ocala Clothing Swap are also welcome.
