Kim Roe is a Registered (R) judge. Kim grew up riding on the family ranch, working cattle for neighboring outfits, and packing horses and mules into the high Sierra. Kim competed in Western rail classes, trail horse, reining, working cow, hunter/jumper, and three-day eventing, eventually becoming focused and most passionate about dressage. Kim has been a professional dressage instructor in Washington State for over 30 years, training hundreds of horses and students through the levels. Kim has trained USDF Regional champions and USDF National breed champions. She’s a USDF Bronze medalist, an L Graduate with distinction, and a USAWE ‘R’ judge.
In 2016 one of Kim’s clients, a breeder of Lusitanos, introduced Kim to the sport of working equitation and she immediately fell in love with the sport.
Kim is also the editor of the Northwest Horse Source Magazine and has written hundreds of articles on all aspects of horse care and training. She owns and manages Blue Gate Farm in Deming, Washington where she continues to be passionate about helping horses and riders in numerous disciplines.
