We are looking forward to welcoming Edinburgh author, Lesley Kelly along to the shop on Wednesday 19th June at 7pm to chat about the latest novel in her thoroughly thrilling Health of Strangers series, Dead Man Driving.
Two years into a devastating flu pandemic, food shortages are critical. The streets are full of angry protestors objecting to the government’s proposed rationing.
Carlotta Carmichael MSP is busy organising a meeting of international Virus ministers. When a lorryload of food for her ministerial dinner gets hijacked, she calls on the unwilling assistance of the North Edinburgh Health Enforcement Team to track down its missing driver. While the lorry proves easy to find, the identity of the dead young woman in its hold is less easy to establish.
Everyone’s hungry. Everyone’s scared. And the Health Enforcement Team are driving blind.
Lesley Kelly has worked in the public and voluntary sectors for the past twenty-five years, dabbling in poetry and stand-up comedy along the way. She has won a number of writing competitions, including The Scotsman’s Short Story award in 2008, and was long-listed for the McIlvanney Prize in 2016.
She lives in Edinburgh with her husband and two sons.

Tickets are £3.00, there is also Ticket & Book option which includes a signed copy of Dead Man Driving by Lesley Kelly.
