This will be our 5th Defibrillator Pub to Pub walk, to continue Lesley Ann Baker’s Legacy, to get a Community 24/7 Defibrillator for every village in Washington. Lesley payed a huge part in getting a number of these life saving bits of equipment to many areas, of Washington, including a lot of our local Pubs, which will be visiting during the day. With the help of Rotary Washington Forge and Rotary North East 'One Life Initiative', Lesley was able to achieve so much, before she sadly passed away in 2022. We done our first Defibrillator walk in October 2022 and has grown in numbers each year. Last year, we had around 150 taking part throughout the day. Which has grown year on year and hopefully will be even bigger again this year. As well as continuing Lesley’s Legacy and Memory, we are also trying to create more Defibrillator Awareness, in our area. Where are all the portable Defibrillators are in Washington, which are available 24 hours a day and how important they are in saving lives, in the past and in the future. The day is also to help some of our local pubs get some much needed revenue, on the day and in the future. Last year many of us covered the full 10 miles on the day and will be great for us to get our walking shoes on again and getting some exercise in. Also meeting and talking to people on the walk.
This Year we are going to Start from “The Cherry Tree Pub” in Ayton. This was Lesley’s Local Pub. People can start there or join in at any point through the day and finish at any point. From there we are looking at working backwards and covering the other 10 pubs, that we visited last Year, all of which have a Lifesaving Community Defibrillator outside their premises, which are looked after by them. Nearly all of us done the full route last year, The Full (10 miles) Anyone wanting to take part on the 6th June, can you click “going” on the Event page or message me, just for numbers, for the Pubs to get ready for us all.
