This embroidery how-to workshop examines the history of whitework and it’s complex attachment to both the working class and aristocracy rooted in exploitation. This history will be discussed along with some modern-day connections in fashion/society. The workshop is also dedicated to learning how to embroider with the whitework style in mind, creating texture and pattern with white thread on white background through various kinds of stitches.
