This April, our usually-in-Advent tradition of "Silence and Song in the Spirit of Taize" is repeated in the season of Lent at the Church of the Epiphany. Join us Friday, April 4 at 5 pm for this candle-lit, meditative experience.The Taizé community in the Burgundy region of France is made up of brothers from several continents and Reformed, Roman Catholic, and Anglican traditions. Hundreds of thousands of men and women from all over the world are drawn to Taizé. They come as part of their search for trust and communication in their lives and to experience the community’s commitment to ecumenical and international cooperation.
Using just a few words, the songs and prayers and readings express faith easily understood. As the simple words and melodies repeat, they penetrate the whole being. Simple chants provide a way of praying when one is alone, during the day or night or even the silence of one’s heart.
