About this Event
Lenten Listening
Lent is often defined as a season to give something up, but it can also be a season that gives.
In this group spiritual direction experience, we’ll first spend time within the Lenten texts uncovering their gifts to our souls. Then, through reflection and creative practice, we’ll discover insight for our individual journeys.
No art experience is necessary, in fact, the less experience the better! Together, we’ll curate a contemplative space and invite our intuitive, inner artist to flow through us in whatever form brings us delight. All the while paying attention to what shimmers as we awaken to the presence of the Divine within and among us.
If you’ve considered spiritual direction, this may be the perfect opportunity to explore the practice in a group environment rather than starting one-on-one with a spiritual director. Shared agreements will provide a guided experience designed to create space to sense the movement of the Spirit.
Each 90 minute session will include:
- guided reflection on the Lenten scripture for the week.
- a time of creative practice with art materials provided or you can bring your own.
- safe space to create without judgement, critique, or the expectation to show.
- opportunities to engage your intellect, imagination, and intuition.
There will be three sessions during the Lenten season — 3/12, 3/26, and 4/9. Each session will stand alone, and you’re welcome to attend just one, two, or all three. The sessions are offered free of charge and are limited to just 10 participants.
All artmaking materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. All creative practices are welcome including movement, music, writing, and digital, as well as visual art.
Make space for your creative soul this Lenten season, and join us in this sacred experience.
