When I say itβs about more than just the bread, I mean itβs about more than just the bread. ππ₯βοΈJoin The Courtyard and Loaves of Love for an end-of-summer neighborhood celebration filled with lemonade, popsicles, sourdough, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and simple old-fashioned summer fun before the school-year routines return. (Maybe you joined us last year on August 9th, 2025 when we had Kj's Cool Kart).

Saturday, August 1st. Texas Time! 11am-1pm
There will also be a special Loaves of Love bake day with heavily discounted bread available for pickup during the event. The pickup window will be intentionally short because the hope is simple:
come pick up your bread⦠but pretend you came for the lemonade instead.
Take the money you saved and hand it to the next generation of tiny entrepreneurs running the lemonade and popsicle stand.
I will make additional loaves available day-of if numbers allow, but to guarantee your bread, pre-ordering will be strongly encouraged.
Part of the reason I continue to show up and build things like this is because I want my children to witness and participate in something tangible in an increasingly digitized world.
So many modern jobs, businesses, and adult responsibilities now exist almost entirely behind screens. Children often donβt get the opportunity to truly see entrepreneurship, service, communication, creativity, and community happening in real life the way previous generations naturally did.
Not everything meaningful happens online.
Sometimes it looks like children running lemonade stands. Greeting neighbors. Counting change. Learning confidence. Solving problems. Using imagination. Creating something with their own hands and experiencing the pride that comes from contributing in a real and visible way.
A lemonade stand may seem simple, but it teaches communication, confidence, entrepreneurship, creativity, and community in real time.
So this event is about more than sourdough, lemonade, and popsicles. Itβs about intentionally creating opportunities for our children to experience things that feel human, local, personal, and connected in a world that increasingly isnβt.
The exact location will not be publicly listed within the event itself. Pickup details will be provided after checkout for pre-order customers β or, if you know, you know and simply want to stop by for lemonade and popsicles, feel free to come by.
Also, if youβre willing, I would genuinely appreciate RSVPs to help estimate lemonade and popsicle quantities. This is very much a charmingly small-scale neighborhood operation, so if we run out, we run outβ¦ although we may also be able to send someone on an emergency popsicle run if needed.
There is also a park directly next door, so feel free to bring a picnic blanket or basket, let the kids play, and linger awhile before heading off to the rest of your weekend adventures.
As always, the Little Free Library will be out as well, and you are always welcome to take a book or leave a book as we head into fall. π
Bring a lawn chair, come meet your neighbors, and help us celebrate one last sweet stretch of summer together.
