About this Event
To ensure good practice is sustained, and that education staff feel professionally held and valued, structured support in the form of supervision can be helpful and effective. This training day will introduce you to practical ideas and models for establishing individual, peer or group supervision systems within your school or college.
Some key features of the session:
- Compassion-Focused Approach: Learn about compassion and compassion-based models of support to help guide your approach.
- Understanding Supervision: Gain a better understanding of what supervision is and how to effectively apply various models to the realities of working in education.
- Skills Practice: Understand and practice key supervision skills, empowering you to effectively support your colleagues.
- Implementation Planning: Develop options and plans for setting up a supportive supervision structure tailored to your setting’s needs.
By the end of the session you will have gained ideas about models of supervision that can be implemented in your school or college setting. It will be useful and relevant for any setting which plans to introduce a system for staff supervision to support their practice.
The day will involve presentations around supervision models and skills, and workshop time in small groups to think about your setting and to develop options for future planning. As an in-person session, you will have opportunities to meet with peers in similar roles who are also aiming to develop supervision systems, share experiences and hear good practice happening elsewhere.
Light refreshments are provided through the day. Lunch is not provided but can be brought or purchased at the venue.
