🪾 Vizuálně monumentální freska filmaře Tarsema Singha mísí skutečnost s fikcí a pohádkovými sny v pestré paletě barev, uhrančivých exotických krajinách a epickém vyprávění plném bájných hrdinů a dechberoucích dobrodružství. Singh si ke svému audiovizuálnímu opusu magnum sám napsal scénář a utkal epochální příběh po vzoru těch nejvzácnějších perských koberců s precizně rozvrženou mizanscénou a opulentní výpravou. Film se natáčel v reálných lokacích ve 24 zemí světa a mimo jiné za podpory Davida Finchera a Spika Jonzeho. Ambiciózní projekt vyústil ve velkolepou a podmanivou podívanou, která vzdává hold vypravěčům, lásce, obrazotvornosti a kinematografii.
Těžce zraněný kaskadér Hollywoodu 20. let leží v nemocnici v Los Angeles a vypráví pětileté dychtivé holčičce Alexandrii fantastický příběh pomsty pěti dávných hrdinů z Indie. Chce však za to protislužbu a dívenka toužící uslyšet příběh až do konce mu za to nosí ukradené morfium, aby si mohl ulevit od sužujících bolestí.

Recovering from a near fatal accident and a personal betrayal, Roy begins to tell of a magical, mythological land ruled by Governor Odious and the 5 extraordinary heroes charged to defeat him - an enthralling story of colour, texture and immense riches unravels and it is only when the lines between reality and fantasy begin to blur that Alexandria realises how much there is at stake.
