Summary:
DAC Beachcroft invite you to a 90-minute virtual training session to cover the past, present and future. In an interactive session, we'll demystify and update you on important and tricky employment law issues and guidance from the past year and walk you through what’s on the agenda for legislative change following the recent General Election.
In more detail we will:
- take you through the highlights from Labour's Employment Rights Bill, which includes: the introduction of 'Day One Rights'
- banning 'exploitative' zero-hour contracts
- restrictions on fire and rehire
- consider important recent legislative developments, including the enhanced obligation to protect employees from sexual harassment
- holiday rights for irregular and part-year workers
- cover some of the key employment law updates of the past year, including:
- developments in disability discrimination
- flexible working and indirect discrimination
Objectives:
The objective of this virtual training session is to provide attendees with the tools to:
· gain a practical insight into how to manage the conflicting rights of employees in the workplace;
· understand and evaluate risk areas; and
· have an understanding of additional considerations to be taken in light of upcoming legislative changes.
Outcome:
To extend your understanding of latest legal developments and upcoming legislative change, and increase knowledge of how to manage any specific needs within the confines of employment law.

Facilitators:
Linnea is a Senior Associate at DAC Beachcroft and she has extensive experience of representing clients in both the public and private sectors. Linnea has dealt with many claims including complex discrimination claims, which have required sensitive handling. She has also advised on the TUPE aspects in a number of transactions. In addition, Linnea drafts employment contracts and policies and provides general advice and HR guidance on how to deal with capability issues and redundancies.
Roberta is a Solicitor at DAC Beachcroft and has experience of both contentious and non-contentious employment law. Roberta has a particular interest in equality and discrimination issues. She works across a variety of sectors, including health, financial services and commercial. Roberta's advisory practice covers a full-range of employment issues, including complex disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence processes.
